My birthday was this past week… Sean surprised me with a trip to Gettysburg. It has been on my bucket list for some time and I was so excited. However, I must tell you that as great as the experience was it was a reality check that not so very long ago in the United States of America that we fought on our soil. That hundreds of thousands of people lost their life on our soil. It gave me pause to realize that we are one nation under God and that we need to start acting like it. It made me think about loving my neighbor more as thy self. It made me realize that men and women were cold and hot and wet and dirty and hungry and exhausted and thirsty and ragged fighting and championing for a cause… The United States of America. We are so blessed to live in this country. If you’ve never been to a place like this and realized what little sacrifices we’ve truly made today… you should carve out time to do so. There are numerous ones in this country… try and visit and support them. It was a game changer for me!
